Default incorrect date of creation in visio?

Every time I start a new project in SI5, the date on each page in Visio says "Created May 5th, 2004." Has anyone else had this problem? The date on my pc is correct, so I don't know where it is getting this information from... Thanks!!

Shit, my bad. That is the date that the title frame shape was created. The problem is that I am using the DOCLASTEDIT() command and it is picking that date from when tht shape was created. I need to have it look at the current document.

Hmm, let me consult the experts and I will post a solution.

Hey Chris, if you see this what do you think the best way to approach this issue?

According to Microsoft, May 5th, 2004 is the only acceptable Creation Date until Vista 2016 is released. You clicked the "Agree" radio button when you installed Windows, didn't you read all the fine print?

Ok, not funny. Anyway it looks like the function that needed to be in the title block is: DOCCREATION(). This is available in the standard Insert > Field dialog box. When you select the Date/Time category, you can choose Creation Date/Time from the right-hand column.

DOCCREATION happens when you make a new document from a template (.vst file). And I believe the d-Tools new project code creates a new document from a template. So we need to fix the template.

Is this field on the document by default, or does it come with a Title Block that users add afterwards?

The field is in a shape that is automatically added to the drawing when a new project is started. How would I make it so the shape is the creation date of the project not the date when that shape was created?

Just insert that DOCCREATION field I mentioned above. It's in the Insert > Field dialog. I think that will work.

Yea, that is the field I used but for some reason it only gives me the current date when I drop the Smart Frame L-scape shape on a new page not when I use it in a D-Tools template???

Stemcil and template attached if you want to take a look.

I just tested this and it has been fixed in SI5 SP3. Please post if you are still having a problem.

I'm running SP3, and just tried creating a brand new visio file, and the create date says may 2004... Do I need to force some sort of update?

Hmmm... works as expected now. Try the enclosed stencil and unzip in the C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\D-Tools\SI5\Visualizations\Stencils folder.

Read this if having problems dling http://www.d-tools.us/4937-post1.html
