Default Scaling Rack Elevations

when building rack elevations, how do you scale them to fill the page? The components I put in the rack don't scale when i try to change the rack size.

thanks!

Hi bcgc,

Do you want to fill the page just for clarity - ie: you don't care that the shapes won't be drawn to scale any more?

If you're just doing this for printing, try this: Go ahead and draw your rack system as normal, then copy the whole thing to the clipboard.

In a new drawing, do a Edit > Paste Special, and select Picture or Metafile or Enhanced Metafile. This will give you a vector-based object that you can scale to any size you want. Visio "smarts" will be lost, which is what you want if you're just trying to stretch the graphics.

Hope this is what you needed,

Chris

Change your page scale?

File>Page Setup>Drawing Scale(tab)

Then select your scale to fill the page of whichever size you choose.

JordanC is correct. If I need a rack elevation to be larger when printed, I just go to the page properties and make the scale larger(Closer to 1:1) This in turn will make your rack drawing take up more space on the page without losing your Visio "smarts" as Visio guy said.

these all work for particular applications. For what i need immediately, visioguy has the answer as i just need to enlarge the rack for diagram purposes.

Thanks to all for your input!
