And to answer your question, yes, I am a co-author of the shape and the portion that I was not responsible for has been paid for with no supplemental royalties implied in our original agreement.

You are correct to say that most templates are relatively inexpensive, but they are also freely available; whereas, it looks as though my particular offering is much more exclusive and holds much more value than the "run of the mill" template. Conforming to a typical S&D model, the early adopters will pay a premium, BUT, they will also be the ones that will have the ability afforded to them to capitalize on its' advantages before it becomes a commodity (much like yourself)
