Default It started with Visio

Here is some ancient history on how I got hooked on Visio and started this company. These are a series of articles I wrote in 1998 for an online magazine called Design-Drawing. Design-Drawing went down sometime in 2000 or so but these articles live on.

The first one was called Colored Dots and Sleepless Nights. I am sure a lot of integrators can empathize with the central theme. http://www.design-drawing.com/visio/digitoola.htm

Here is something on how to draw smart rack shapes by the numbers.
http://www.design-drawing.com/visio/DrawNo.htm

Here is something about how to create Auto scale fonts. http://www.design-drawing.com/visio/autoscale.htm

This information is kind of dated but it clearly illustrates the initial ideas that still resonate through the company today.

It looks like the site is down and the design-drawing.com name is up for sale.
Those were good articles and would not count them as being dated.

If only Visio shapes were as easy to work with as AutoCAD blocks...
Still dreaming of the release of SI6 when I have decided: a) to upgrade from SI5.5 SP1 and b) to start using AutoCAD with D-Tools again.
