Default Elevation smart frame not printing

I have noticed on my visio drawings that on an elevation page based on a background A3 title block, none of the side bar info is printed except for the page title and page number. On all of the other pages the smartfame prints perfectly (as displayed) how can we fix this?

Have you checked your layers on this page?
Sometimes they are set to view but not print...

If only it was that simple!
The elevation pages don't have a layer that relates to the background page. In fact none of them do! I have looked deep and hard to find any diferences within the schematic, floorplan, and elevation pages but I can't seem to find any! is there a way to check what visio does when you select the page type the first time you create it in a drawing?

I assume you have attempted this with other page sizes and don't have the same problem. Have you tried changing the page to a different page type and then back to elevation?

I use a custom smart frame built from the original one. I tested the A3 template and I don't see the problem. Does it preview correctly?

Hmmmm, It reviews correctly, and re-sizing doesn't help. but I did manage to narrow it down a bit. If I print direct from visio to the printer it works, but if I export it, save as publish or print to .pdf that's were the problem occurs! I've checked the .pdf settings and can see the print background option but still no joy!

So the good news is I learned something new. I have never used the publish as PDF command before. Never noticed it was there...

I use a heavily modified and practically rebuilt from the ground up version of the smart titleblock which uses the D-Tools version as a starting point. I confirmed that even using my version the problem is still evident when using the Publish as PDF command. I inserted a new page of Elevation type and it still prints without the smart frame.

The other good news is that the problem relates to drawing scale. I noticed the Cover Sheet and the Elevation page both use scale of 1:20. I changed them to 1:25 and voila, the title returns...oh joy!

Nice!
how do we work around this if I need 1:10 or any other scale? I mainly work with 18RU racks and a 1:10 scale works well........If your suggesting a customised smartframe just for elevation drawings in 1:10 scale, then its really not that smart of a frame!

OK, so what it sounds like is that there are actually problems with different scales. You use 1:10 and it breaks, I try the default 1:20 and it breaks, but other scales actually work.
I believe this is something inside of the smart frame or a problem with the Publish Command since we both see the same problem with smart frames of the same origin. I'll submit a bug report.
