Default Elevation Scaling

So I typically draw my elevations in 1/4" scale. I am drawing something that requires a 1" scale because it requires more detail. I would like to fit 4 elevations on a page, but I cant having a 1" scale on the page.

Is it possible to have multiple scales on a page by shape?

For instance, I would like a drawing to be scaled 1/4", another to be 1" and another 3/8" on the same page.

Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Absolutely, Depending on if you use the default d-tools page border that's located on a background page or not (I don't). If you do, you'll need to copy and paste it to your foreground pages and then turn off the back ground pages on all of the pages you DON'T want the elevation to show up on. After that draw what you want in the page scale that you want and wallah, you have your scaled drawings. If yo need multiple scales then make multiple backgrounds that are all sub pages of the parent background page. Oh, and if you need to drop D-tools shapes onto your background you need to make them foreground pages first then change them back (D-tools doesn't recognize background pages).

Thanks Tim. Solution actually works, although not an easy one.

I took my 3 elevations (different scales, 1/4", 1/2" & 1"), and had to put the smallest scaled elevation on the deepest background level. I put my 1/2" elevation on the first background page and referenced background #2 to be the brackground there. Then put my largest scaled elevation on the same scale of the smallest elevation page. (1/4") This essentially makes all the elevations the same size, albeit different scales.

The toughest issue I see will be placement. Trying to get all the drawings to line up functionally on the main elevation page.

This will work, until a better option comes along. Thank you.

Works quite well once you get the hang of it. You can turn your main page into the last background so you can arrange all the placement of the other backgrounds then turn it back to a foreground.

Thanks.

You know of any way to have this work while using a background page with the title frame? Not as important to be because I don't use this feature, just wondering if there is a special way to reference a sheet without bringing in all sub levels.

Nah, never pursued a solution, I'm a "pre-background title page" user...I've never liked it be cause our revision detail block is part of our border template.
