Default Duplicate Drawing Pages

Is there a way to duplicate pages with all of the schematic blocks and connectors in them?

I have a completely drawn video schematic but due to the complexity, I want to seperate the Audio, video, control schematics to different pages. I have not drawn the Audio or control but want the shapes to be in the same place on the preciding pages.

Is this possible?

Possible - Yes, but there are a few things that need to be done first.

First off, you are not able to duplicate a page and its contents within Visio.

The easiest way to do this is to select the items that you want to copy from one page and then paste them on another page. In order to make this work you must first go to the D-Tools Menu and select Options. On the Options Window, select the General Tab at the right. You will see a check box option "Promt to add new product when shapes are pasted into drawing programs", make sure to uncheck this box. See screenshot below

After you have done this you will be able to select the items that you wish to copy to the new page and then paste them on the new sheet. The pasted items will not line up on the exact same location on the new page, however it you keep all the items select you will be able to move them (all together) into a similar position. And if you really want it perfect you can switch back between each page until you get the alignment perfect.

There is also a great post by Senos in the Support Wiki about using Visio's Off Page Reference feature which depending on what you are doing it might be useful to you

Off-page Reference - D-Tools Documentation Wiki

Speaking of an off page reference, I have created a few shapes of my own for certain page and off page references, I would like to have the text within those off page references auto populate some info. Is there are way to handle that? For example Source component ID, Destination Component ID and page number.

Yep - that can happen. Welcome to Visio and its strange little quirks.

Do a Google search on Shape Sheet for Visio - that is where all the magic happens
