Default Visio 2007?

From a D-tools user perspective, is there anything compelling in Visio 2k7 to make me want to switch? (either w/ SI 4 or SI 5).

Curious to hear from other users who have upgd'd to '07 and love it (and/or maybe backed out to '03?).

Thanks,

J.

Hi Jack,

Just running VISIO 2007 Trial before upgrading - not sure if it was just a coincidence however one of my current projects developed a problem (corrupt VISIO file) within a few days of starting the trial.

So far in case of D-Tools SI4 integration I cant see much benefit of VISIO 2007, however will let you know my thoughts in a few weeks

Just FYI...Visio 2007 isn't what causes a corrupt D-Tools Visio file. I've been using it for a while and never had a problem until I did a "save as." This is what caused my problem which is easily resolved.

I'm a shape junkie, so I like the added shape enhancements in Visio 2007. Don't ask me what they are. I'm too lazy to write all that. Download the trial version or subscribe to the Action Pack.

Biggest plus to visio 2007 is that it is part of office 2007 and there is a great add in on the MS website.

The add in allows you to create .pdf of any MS office app.

This thing is smoking fast.

D-Tools visio drawings that we have produced which choked adobe acrobat and cause it (adobe) to crash took 10 seconds to publish as .pdf!

No bluff

Thanks for all the replies!

Kevin, I've used a freeware .pdf printer called CutePDF (http://www.cutepdf.com/Products/CutePDF/writer.asp for any interested) which blows the doors off of Acrobat in speed every time. I have no problems there and it works for EVERY application on my computer.

So besides for PDF creation and the shapes (which I'll look into - btw, are those "enhancements" of existing shapes or enhanced abilities in *creating* shapes?) is there anything else compelling? Anything that's proven to be a REAL timesaver or workflow improvement?
What about collaboration (even, for instance, sans the DT component) w/ colleagues and/or Client?
Any hidden gems you've found?

Thanks for all you answers!

J.
