Default Visio PLT

What is the best way to get say a 32 x 40 drawing to the printers!
I don't have a large format printer as of yet, and when I do get one I'll likely stay at the 36 x 24 range. If I have to generate E sheets, I'll need to go to the printers. My local printer uses the Xerox 8850 so with AutoCAD, for example, I could generate PLT files for that particular printer. Does Visio support something similar?

The best way is to get your printer to install a copy of Visio. Second best is to print to pdf with Acrobat. Those are the only two choices that work. anything else IMHO is a waste of time and resources.

It has been my experience that outsource printing is not worth it. As soon as you get a copy you are going to see something you missed and have to trot down to the store and get it redone. Starting at $1k you can get one of these. http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/us/en...78-436089.html

Default Printing Drawings

We have found a lot of times that trying to print a visio drawing directly to a printer sometimes cause stalled/crashed printers.

We use PDF995(shareware- there is a paid version). much more cost efficient than Adobe

1) from visio file menu, make sure your page is setup in visio for the correct page size & drawing scale

2) from visio file menu, print your document to PDF995 printer that is installed when you install the PDF995 program.

3) You can then send the PDF to any printer on your network/PC, be sure to specify printer page orientation, size and "fit to page"
