Question Misc Parts too high, auto-doubling Net Price

Total noob here. I created some packages and started a new project. After adding equipment to the project, I started to notice that the "Installed Price" amounts were WAY off.

When I go to the configure screen for a component, click on the "Price" tab and click "View" next to the "Installed Price" field, I see the problem but I don't know how it happened or how to fix it. The "Misc Parts" field shows a price that reflects an amount that is twice as much as the "Net Price" and the "Base Labor" field is acquiring huge install hour amounts from somewhere.

For instance, a plasma package with: 1.Plasma 2.Video Card 3.Mount should have an "Installed Price" of $5xxx.xx, but it shows $14xxx.xx due to the bogus data that it is collecting from somewhere.

This is only happening on one project. If I add the identical package to another project, it displays the correct Installed Price.

I am starting to think that this particular project is corrupt. Am I missing something simple??

TIA

Update to the above : "Misc Parts too high, auto-doubling Net Price"

This incorrect data problem is only occuring in new projects. Any projects that existed before I added new equipment and packages exhibit the correct pricing.

Good Day Mate!

Open the trouble project.

Go to the top tool bar and select:

D-Tools - then Option - then go to the General tab.

Note the value in your Misc Parts field.

You want this number to be .02 (for 2%) if you have a well optimized database with accessories to support all your core product.

This number may be as high as .05 (for 5%) to cover minor items not being included in your proposal (not a best practice by any means)

You may also have a number in the Equipment +/- field that is adding cost to this.

These factors will affect everything that you add to this project, but only this project.

These fields are set as defaults in the Setup section of D-Tools, but can be changed for a project that may deviate from what you do 'most all the time'

Thanks for the reply Kevin, but that doesn't seem to be the issue. In the area you specify: d-tools -> Options -> General, my Misc. is set to 2% and Equip +/- is set to zero.

Recall my update posted above that this issue only occurs in new projects. If I open up an existing project and temporarily add the item that is giving me problems in the _new_ project, the prices are correct.

Problem solved (thanks Scott from d-Tools!) In the Misc. Parts field I had entered "Misc. Parts% '2'" instead of "Misc. Parts '.002%'"
