Lost my Shapes
New PC here and installed all my software and everything is operating normally. Until now. I opened my project up in Visio and was doing my Plan View page and was attampting to add shapes, but when I hit the "Shapes" tab the window does not come up. I did a repair installation, but still got the same results. Anyone have any ideas?

Can you see the stencil tree with all the categories? One other thing... did you install this on the C Drive? Very interesting.

I do have the Stencil Tree. When I select the Shapes, The Stencil Tree goes away and the Shapes DONOT appear. This was installed on my local drive. Here is another funny one. I checked the other machines that I have DT's installed on and this error is on all of them. I think I have a bad installer?

I don't think you are a bad installer. You should take it easy on yourself. Besides don't admit it! Seriously though... I see what you mean because I just opened a project on mine and when I click on Shapes everything on that side goes away. Not sure what is up with that.

I believe this has always behaved this way. The Shapes window only displays when you right-click and dock a Stencil or if you select View-->Shapes Window.

I see the same thing. The Shapes window will display all of the docked stencils for a particular Visio session if you display the Shapes window by right clicking and docking a Stencil. As soon as you choose View-->Shapes window, the "cache" seems to clear and no docked stencils display.
I am not sure why it does this but I am very certain code hasn't changed on our end to cause this. I think this has always behaved this way but I am not 100% sure.

Additional findings:
The "cache" clearing behavior described in my last post is dependent on what interface you are using in SI 4. If you are using the Simple Interface, selecting View-->Shapes Window shows as blank. If you are using the Advanced Interface, the "cache" does not clear.
To change your interace setting: D-Tools-->Options-->Advanced/Simple Interface (toggles depending on your current setting).

When I switch to the advanced interface, I get the layout including the shapes, but only the DT Annotations are showing, not the rest.
