Default Scope of work request

Hi

Was wondering if there are any plans to update the scope of work function?
Would be nice to be able to do basic formatting such as bolding headlines, adding bullet points, changing fonts, font color and font size.

Right now we always have to export the scope of work file and do the editing in word. Means another document to keep track on etc.
Would also be nice to be able to be able to categorize the snippets in Sub System groups or some other basic way. Right now they just go at the bottom when you add a new one.

That feature really need some work to be useful...

Sent an email to feature request as well.

Unhappy

I thought the staff monitored this forum? Whats the point of having a feature request section otherwise...

They do monitor the forums, there has just been alot going on over the last few weeks. Also any kind of support issues would come before feature requests.

Thanks

I have been thinking about using the scope of work section as a modifiable section in our contracts instead, and was wondering if that is possible?

Here is my thought. Since we don't use the SOW in it's current form because of it looks, maybe the SOW can be inserted into our contract report as a section.
All our contracts are pretty much the same except for maybe 5-15 lines of text, for example "pre owned television installation is not included and will be charged..."
Need to play around with that.

BTW, Was wondering if most people just use Word or some other program, or just using the SOW and then just exports the text?

hello,
I have modified one the contract report to have the SOW appear inside it. There are a couple of ways this can be achieved, however the easiest way I found was to modify the contract in order to add a SOW heading with a RTF Box underneath it.

You can modify the script in the report to populate the RTF box with a SOW file that has been saved as RTF and added as a file associated withe project - this way every time your contract report is run it will include the SOW. I cant remember if this needs to be done as a sub report - if you search the forums or the wiki there is a tutorial on how to do this.
Otherwise you can copy and paste from a word doc into the RTF box within the report editor everytime you want to run the contract - this means you can create a different contract report for each client and just update the RTF with the relevant data. Whilst it means no scripting, you may end up with lots of contract reports.

cheers,
Simon

Adding an editable scope of work function would be huge - at minimum having the ability to perform rich text style edits such as bold, bulleted/ numbered lists, etc... Even better would be some sort of a scope of work designer allowing you to build the scope of work using various data elements.
