Default "hidden" accessory

From time to time I come across issues where I really could need to make some accessories hidden in proposals but other accessories to the same product visible. Most current example: In mid-size meeting rooms we often use active speakers. These speakers has wall brackets as an accessory but when using this bracket the distance between the rear of the speaker and the wall is too small to fit a standard XLR plug. Because of that we need to use angled XLR plugs. Those plugs I'd like to add as an hidden accessory as it else just will make the proposal look a bit messy. (no need to point out the weakness of the product to the client, is it?). To make the installation go smoothly and keep tech guys happy it is still needed to have these "hidden accessories" visible on pick lists, purchase orders and so on.

For most small accessories I have a built in fudge factor that covers their cost in the proposal. Then I create two disciplines (i.e. Zones), one for things that I want on the drawings that I don't need to order and for things I do.

Not a direct answer to your question, but it works for me.

I see that one, but my thought was more in the direction of making sure that those angled xlrs will be ordered and that the tech guys know beforehand what they need to bring with them of specialized installation materials. More of a quality control feature.

That's my point, if they're in the "things to order" zone that is filtered out of the client reports, and they're not filtered out of the install and PO reports, you're good to go.
