VBHI is on a distinguished road
Default dataXchange interface

Hi all,

I posted this question in another thread, but realised that it's probably more at home here:
------------------------

Would it be possible to make a change to the dataXchange interface to make it easier to use?

Currently, for example, if I'm looking for an Extron product, I have to choose between "EXTRON ELECTRONICS" and "Extron" (and hope for the best), then I have to hope that I choose the correct subcategory, I then get to choose from a list of entered products.

It would probably be easiest to show the three choices (manufacturer, category, model) as lists alongside each other rather than drop down list boxes above each other.

That way, as soon as you select something in a list, the resuts become visible in the next list to the right. I think a much quicker way to find things in such a data structure.

An indexed search would of course be ideal, but that may require additional tools server side. This way all you are doing is changing the way the lists are displayed.
