Default Don't Move Data Matrix Scroll Bar :-)!

This is almost more of a bug fix request than a feature request.

Every time a new page is selected on a drawing the position of the scroll bar on the data matrix reverts to about the middle (edit: this does not seem to be consistent). This drives the user nuts as the user has often adjusted the data matrix scroll bar to focus on the items they want to be looking at.

Let me give an example. Right now i am working in a drawing that has a few unassigned wires. I believe they are lonely orphans that I can delete but I want to make sure they are not being used on any of the drawing pages. So I try to click through each page, while looking at the data matrix and the little data matrix drawing icon that tells me if something is in use on the page, to make sure they are not used on any page before I delete them. But every time I click the next page, the position I have scrolled to in the data matrix changes. So then I have to scroll back to where I want to look at the unassigned items, until I click the next page and it changes on its own again again. NOT fun on a 50 page drawing.

This is one example, but the issue comes up all the time whether it's working on schematics or whatever. The focus of the data matrix scroll bar should not change unless the user changes it.

Thanks

I just noticed that this does not always happen. Does anyone know why? Also, sometimes it seems to default to putting the scroll bar in the middle, other times the top. Other times it does not move, which is as it should be IMO.

I have noticed this, yes it is very frustrating sometimes. When im in a drawing and i have various pages i have noticed when i change pages the scroll bar is in a different place for every page like it saves where you left off. I learned to use the "Find in projuct DataMatrix" option it really helps.

David,

I checked this and this is what happens -
1. When you activate a Visio drawing page the code sets the drawing icon for any products on page
2. It activates and scrolls to the last selected row

The problem seems to be Step 2 - it activates the last selected row even though you have scrolled to a different row (but not selected the row).
So say you select Row 2 and scroll to row 200 but do not select row 200. Change the page and you will be back on row 2.

Can you confirm this to be the issue?

Whether it is the issue or not, can you change/FIX it?

That's it! Horrah. Like avzone I still suggest you address this if possible as I am sure many users have experienced this and there is no intuitive reason to suspect that one needs to highlight something. But at least now I am good.
