Default MMPD Grid Needs Accessory Indicator

It would be really nice to have some type of column or indicator in the (edit) product grid to see if a component is accessorized. Perhaps a column with a number to show how many accessories are attached to the component? The reason for this is that it's rarely possible to enter all the accessories at the time a component is entered. It would be exceptionally useful in maintaining the database if I could browse in the grid view and see which components have not been accessorized. If there is any way to do this now I am unaware of it.

Thanks

David,
Currently the only way to note if items in a project have accessories is via the + icon when viewing the "Package/Accessory Grid" display of the project grid (in the view menu).

We are working to redesign the project grid to make it even easier and faster to use and will include this request in our design requirements.

Thank You,

Corey

I'm afraid I made a typo. Not the project grid. The product grid in MMPD.

I would second this feature request and take it a step further. It would be great to have a plus next to accessorized items in the MMPD Product Grid. When the plus is clicked you see the accessories associated with the itme without the need to open each item to check accessories.
This is very useful in the case where a certain accessory is used for a large number of items.
Another option that would also be extremely helpful is being able to search for an accessory and MMPD would return a list of items containing the accessory.
This would be a HUGE HELP!!

I second the idea for the accessory search

Guys,

Thanks for the suggestions - these are great ideas. We are currently collecting requirements for a re-work of MMPD. If you have any other suggestions for how to better manage your product catalog, please let me know.

I'll jump on this band wagon and take it a step further.

I like the idea of an 'Accessory Management Tool' - this tool would give me the ability to globally manage the accessories added to 'types' of products. For example I could filter my database for a product profile:
---Category = Video Sources
---Type = Blu-Ray

Then hit 'Select All' or individually select - then I'd be able to choose the accessories I want to add to all of these selected items at once: cables, IR emitter, etc...

This Accessory manager would work very well along with the MMPD Grid being able to display accessories as David described.

Absolutely! A combination of all this funcionality as actually pretty crucial for accessory management and data auditing. Major time saver (in data management) and real money saver in making sure you have appropriate accessories and avoid being in the business of giving away accessories.
