Default long time

I have addressed this issue before, and hoped it would be resolved in 5.2
But its not...

I very often work with large drawing with a huge amount of wires. And i have noticed when the amount of wires increases, it slows down the time, from dropping a cable end to an equipment, to when you can connect the next end.
This can take from 1-2 seconds to almost a minute.
So making a drawing can take 3-4 times longer to complete because of this. And it's wearing down my patience.
And when the wirecount in one drawing exceeds 300 cables

Hope you understand what i mean...

Interesting... Are you using Visio?

Is that lots of cables on one sheet of a project or across multiple sheets? I break up my disciplines across multiple sheets and would have exceeding 300 + cables in total. I do notice the sheets with more on the page takes longer to load but adding to the PDM does not vary too much in time.

Yes, it's all one one sheet.
Its not adding cables to the pdm that is time consuming. Its connecting them...
But it starts as early as 50ish cables or so...

The more equipment you add to the page, the slower the Visio page will load. I would recommend splitting up your drawing onto different pages or even different Visio files.
