Default Delete on plan (Visio)

Am I missing an option or setup?

When I delete a shape on the Visio plan it does not delete from the project matrix. SI4 would provide a prompt, delete from page, page & project or cancel, that was very useful.

*As posted at a later date... using the right click (on the product on the page) D-Tools | Find in Project DataMatrix, makes it quite easy to find and delete a product.

I STRONGLY AGREE! This needs to be brought back. Why would this be removed in the first place?!?

mmm. I miss this feature.

Its not that they have removed this feature. They have changed platforms (not sure if thats the right terminology) therefore they have re-created D-Tools from scratch and have not included every feature from SI4. This is my understanding anyway.

This had to be removed in SI5 since it is now possible to have more than one drawing file per project, and there is no way to open all drawing files to remove the deleted product(s).

However, there may be something we can do to make it easier to delete a product from the PDM when deleting the shape. This has been entered as request #3309 and will be considered for an upcoming release. Lots of users have requested that this be brought back.

Sincerely,

Here is what I have been doing if, when I delete a shape, I want that product removed from the proposal. I right-click the shape and select D-Tools->Find in Project DataMatrix. The line item will be selected and then I click the delete button. This will save you some time by not having to search through the PDM.

When i need to delete some products, i first delete alle the shapes/wires etc.
Then i Sort PDM on "in visio" and deletes all the products not in drawing.

Note... I primary use on drawing pr project.
I recon this won't be the right approach if you use multiple drawings.

Thanks for the input.

Unfortunately not all items I add to a project are displayed on the page either. The Find in Poject Datamatrix method has been working quite well... its an extra step to delete something but quite okay. Without the Find in PDM it would be painful (before I discovered this feature was when I first made the request).
