I might have the reporting center open, the MMPD, and SI5 (each has it's own tab in the task bar) and not relaize that SI5 was actually on the reports section. Thinking I'm in the actual Report Center, I click close and shut down SI5.

Another good one. This one is already on the list and will get looked at for an upcoming service pack (ref #2409)

Randy, NO! IMHO, this is just the result people being careless. The last thing I ever want to another effin prompt. There are too many as it is.
Nothing drives me crazier than a prompt asking me "Are you sure?" Yes, you idiot. That why I pushed the button in the first place!

exit application prompt under consideration
We are considering a prompt that allows you to close the application and work offline when you next open SI. This would include a cancel button. However it will definitely not be in the next service pack, so we have time to discuss this issue. Please continue to post your comments.

In other words you are hoping that will force/help people to select whether they are going to disconnect and work off line. It WON'T because it wrongly assumes people really read it each time and think about it. Instead they will click it as quickly as possible to get rid of the effin message.
Honestly guys, I'm going to go nuts if you do this and it can't be turned off. I have a good solution for anyone who clicks on the x button and doesn't intend to close the application. Don't click on the x button. It's not like projects don't still have the "do you want to save" button.

Too many prompts can be disruptive, but how often do you close SI5 when using it?
If SI5 did not take 60 seconds+ to open, this would not be an interesting topic to me.
However, I have accidentally closed the navigator using the red X, leaving MMPD and a Project open, which then caused me to reopen SI5 at which point I go get a No whip - double Frapp - soy bean - heavy cream - teen dream - la la latte up in Seattle and then come back to find the log in waiting for me to punch in my password.
Then its time for me to toast my bagel while the navigator is reappearing.
I might welcome this prompt, but I welcome a fast load time even more!

I think the real solution here is to fix why the program takes 60 seconds to open to begin with. Common - AUTOCAD opens quicker than D-Tools... and that's a MUCH larger program! :P

Shawn makes a valid point and Kevin is obviously making the same. Collectively, here's what I'm hearing: - Fix (improve) SI5 loading time
- Users need to slow down to alleviate careless mistakes (me included)
- Eliminate the "human factor" and train robots to use SI5
OR - Enable the prompt to be turned off by the user
