Project Summary - D-Tools Forum

I was hoping this version would have better information on the project matrix window regarding job percentages such as markup, margin, etc. It would be nice to see that info while in the project data matrix window rather than in a separate window that has to be refreshed constantly. Also, why do we never get dollar amounts added to the project information window. Percentages of profit are great and everything, but how about the real dollars?!?! I have attached a screen shot of another program that does exactly what I would LOVE to see in d-tools. This is real time data that gets updated as the project changes (not with a refresh button). PLEASE. PLEASE. PLEASE.

Had to shrink bitmap due to file upload requirements. Try this one. Also take note of the shipping item, and the tax and total items at the bottom. They update in real time without having to pull up any type of "project summary"

While I'm on the subject...this program also has the ability to attach and print out a complete set of spec sheets for items in the proposal. It also has the ability to import an outlook contact very quickly without having to answer the "Allow program to connect for 1 min" nag screen. You simply open the contact in outlook and click on the import button in the program and it instantly populates the contact fields. No waiting for 5 minutes for your entire outlook database to load. It also comes with the quickbooks connector (and it always works the first time with the real numbers from the quote) The only thing it is missing is the Visio/AutoCAD connection and it does not necessarily have the Business Manager features. Either way, I had to keep it because a) it's really cheap(I have 4 licenses for under $500 per year), b) my salespeople can make very quick quotes with it, and c) it works all the time. You should really consider talking to these people, because I think they really have the interface and speed thing set up perfectly. If only they had the drawings and maybe business manager....
