SI 5.5 new workstation - D-Tools Forum

My workstation is getting replace with a new PC. I tried to install 5.0 so I could then use the check for updates but it would not install because I could never get past the "Locate LanSync server" window. I assume it's because I have already updated the server but I don't know. How do I get D-Tools onto this workstation?

I am having the same issue. I have a call in to Tech support, but I'm afraid what the answer might be. I'll post an update when I hear from them.

Try installing the client side as a STANDALONE instead of LANSync Managed, and then run the upgrade for SI5.5. Once you have upgraded to SI5.5, you can log in to the Navigator, click on FILE > Connect to SI5.5 Server.

It will then give you the login to enter your credentials and select the server to connect to (the one running LANSync). That will then freeup the license from Standalone mode.

Also had the same problem, I have installed as stand lone, then updated to 5.5 , I was allowed access to the server , when I try to perform LANSync synchronization copy Lansync server database , I get the error: could not get connection to lansync server database. Error is DBNETLIB connection open (connect()).] SQL Server does not exists or access denied
Can you help?
