Default Line Item List Price Report by Location by Zone Sort order?

Hi, What determines the Sort Order of Items in the same room and zone? Can I change whatever it is to Sort by Price in decending order so the thing with the highest price always comes first? I tried to sort the Price field in Crystal but it didn't seem to take. The order appears random, perhaps determined by the order things were put in the proposal?

This will take some study. See Record Sort Expert. Then look at the formulas listed in the Sort Fields. A lot of this is dealing with Factors set by the selected report filters. Packages, Accessories, etc

At a glance it looks like
Location (Based on Location Order)
Zone (Based on ZOne Order)
Category (Possibly depending on selection)
Package (Selection dependent)
Parent of Accessory (Selection dependent)
Accessory (Selection dependent)
Manu-Model-Description

The answer to the Price question is a qualified yes. But you need to carefully study this report to understand why the Items are sorted the way they are. Putting the Price sort at the proper level without breaking Packages and Accessories logic will require a through understanding of this report. I'm not sure I ever completely figured this one out.

Given your clues this is what seems to have done it. Careful testing still required, so I'm not rolling this version out any time soon.

I selected the Retail Price feild.
Hit the Record Sort Expert button
The group sort expert opened, not the record sort one!
and I made the pictured changes.

Any issues with this method jumping out at you?

Thanks again for the clue, I hope I actually have the answer.

Careful! The standard report Record Sort Expert has 18 entries! It looks like you now have one. This may create problems for Packages and Accessories. Good luck.

The other entries are still there. The pic just shows the last 2. Changing the second to last entry from None to All based on Sum of SHAPE.RetailPrice seems to be working. Packages are sorting based on the package totals and accessories are sorting based on the parent total. If I uncheck "Keep Accessories with Parent and or Keep Packages together, then the accessories move in order of Price like the rest of the items. Which isn't all bad depending on what you want to do.

Excellent! That's a nice enhancement. Keep us posted...

You placed the RetailPrice sort between which two items in the Record Sort Expert?

It's not the record sort expert, it's the group sort expert.. which opened when I hit record sort expert button? Confusing, I know but that's how it worked out.
Use the little arrows and move all the way right until you get to the end, and go back one tab. Should look like the Pic.
It's still working fine several designs later. We like it much better this way. As the numbers get smaller, clients just turn the page.

I'm trying to do the same kind of sorting the only problem i'm having though is that it sorts in decending order, but it sorts the Product in decending order then starts over and sorts the Packages in decending order. Anybody know a way that i can sort them all together?
