This video will show you how I think we can deal with two or more speakers sold as pairs but under one product sku.

Default Alternative Method

Here is an alternative method to dealing with pairs of Speakers in Visio:

Pairs of Speakers in Visio - Senos

Vote for your favorite method! The loser will have to wear a chicken costume or something at CEDIA.

Either method works...each with their pros and cons. Here are some off the top of my head:

Blake's method

Pros: You get a seperate ComponentID for each speaker.
Cons: If you use QuickLinks, you have to remember not to add dummy Products to the Estimate that you are pushing over to QuickBooks. There is no convenient filter to single out the dummies.

Senos's method (referring to myself in the third person...and by nickname...hmmm)

Pros: No dummy Products so no need to filter out dummy Products from the Estimate form for QuickLinks.
Cons: Both shapes have the same ComponentID.

So... This is probably a stupid thing, but when I do this, the accessory speaker is attached to the actual speaker on the line diagram & Plan pages.

WHen I say attached.... i mean I can not move the accessory spk away from the edge of the actual speaker, it just snaps back.

edit...
So I figured out that the shape sheet has the child item pinned to the parent... I was able to fumble through it for this proposal... how would I fix it for next time?

You'd fix it by using Senos's method
