Question Renaming Phases

I renamed my 4 phases from:
RoughIn ----> 1-RoughIn
Trim--------> 2-Trim
Finish ------> 3-Finish
Programming -> 4-Programming

Now, if I drag an item into a project it has no phase information associated with it. Existing items in projects have phases still, but anything I drag in does not. This is true for existing projects. I'm not sure about new projects.

I opened the MasterTable and the phase field contains a number (1, 2, 3, or 4). I open the Phase Table and the new names are indeed present.

I'm glad I don't have to associate a phase with each product in the MasterTable, but where's the gap?

All new projects will be fine. For your existing projects:

1. Open the project
2. D-Tools-->Options and then click the [Add] button next to the Phase dropdown.
3. In the "Phase(s) in project section", rename RoughIn-->1-RoughIn etc.

This will fix the issue for the project. You do not want to add the Phases listed in the "Add Phases(s) to project" section because this would list all eight Phases (orginal and renamed) on your reports.

Default One little problem

It's working just fine on my machine.

We have a pro user with a laptop (recently re-installed everything, including D-Tools). When I fix the phase problem for a project, he still has the problem with that project.

And when he renames the phases as you describe, it doesn't fix the problem -- he's still alerted that the product has no phase info.

we're using lanSync, and I think it's configured correctly... we're all pointing to the same directory on our server anyway.

Thoughts?

Do a "Copy Down" on his machine. When he logs into SI 4, instead of clicking the [Sync] button, click [Setup] and then [Copy]. This may resolve the issue.

Hmmm...I am not sure. Maybe I missed a step here.

1. On your machine, go to Data tab-->Administration-->LANSync(Administer). Enter password.
2. Click the Administration link on the left hand side of the form (you may have to click [Next] until you get there.
3. Click the [Tables] button.
4. Close SI 4 and Sync.
5. Sync on the machine having the issue.

This may correct the problem.

I haven't done this yet, but I will. Are there any risks for me to guard against before I pull the trigger?
