Angry Project List Disappeared Again!!!

My project list disappeared again. The last time was in Febuary 08. As before my projects are all gone from the list but are in my project folder. I can import them back in one by one which took forever last time and this time will take me three times as long. I checked set up and the file path is correct. Everything was fine last night when I went home - came in this morning and they were gone. The server software runs on my computer along with the client is this the issue?

Can you verify two things for me? Where is your Projects Folder pointing to under the SETUP tab? Also, on the server running LANSync, if you browse to default share folder can you tell me what size the DToolsCache.xml file is?

Default path is: C:\DTools\SI5\Server\Projects you should see DToolsCache.xml in there.

H:\My Documents\D-Tools SI5 Projects - Which is where my folders are at. My DToolsCache.xml file is 19KB

I'm now having the exact same problem too! Jose - perhaps a recent Microsoft patch screwed this up? All paths are correct and Scott suggested I delete the dtoolscache.xml file - which I did and restarted the service. Now the file is 1k (after being re-created) and I STILL have an empty projects list.

I dunno - but I've seen it occur twice now in our own network... it's a pain, as after the fix - all the archived projects come back up as current etc... etc... so you spend an hour or two cleaning them all up again...

Unhappy

We have the same problem. Our database is on a seperate server on SQL2005. Everything was fine on Friday. Is there a fix for this yet?

What is the procedure for importing your projects back in?

Thanks.

Call tech support - I forget which file - but you have to delete it and it'll re-create the entire listing again. I "THINK" you stop the service on the server, delete that DToolsCache.xml file, then restart the service on the server. But - check with support to be 100% sure.
