Default Unable to locate LanSync Server

I had installed the SI5 trial on this computer, everything was working well except the D-Tools menu never showed up in Visio. I realized it was because I installed Visio after SI. So I un-installed and re-installed SI. Now when I try to open it, I get the error message above. This should be a stand alone install, I see no way to force offline mode. I searched these forums and could not locate others with similar issue.

I ran update to get the 5.1 upgrade but could not install it, instructions say it must be installed from the SI Install utility, which I can not locate.

Any help would be appreciated.

By the way, I have tried additional uninstall and reinstalls, made sure the C:\Program Files\D-Tools directory was deleted. Still no luck.

I may be OK now. After uninstalling through Add/Remove Programs, I manually deleted the remaining files and folders in My Documents, and All Users/Application Data and MyName/Application Data.
I also deleted all d-tools references in the registry.
This time when I re-installed I had to re-enter my registration key (since It was deleted from the windows registry) and the problem did not return.

Not sure which step exactly was the necessary step, but it's working now. of course there are only 6 days left on the trial.

I too experienced a similar issue due to Visio being re-installed to resolve a font issue.

I highly recommend you work through the document on the forums to resolve this issue. I had a complication with the process due to my error ( I ran the DTools LANSync application to create the cache file instead of stopping and starting the DTools LANSync v5 Server service ).

This was my experience:
I believe our IT support rectified this font problem by re-installing Visio over the weekend.
I then worked through the ‘Troubleshooting SI 5 LANSync Errors/Messages’ document.
In order for DTools LANSync v5 Server service to run and not stop I needed to rename the cache file DToolsCache.xml (as per document).
I then ran the DTools LANSync application accidentally instead of the DTools LANSync v5 Server service stated in the document to create the cache file (this did not create the cache file).
I attempted to open SI5 on the local machine which generated the same errors.
I then noticed the cache file had not been recreated, and stopped and started the DTools LANSync v5 Server service (as per documents instruction) and this did create the cache file.
I then opened SI5 on the local machine, still the error appeared, I selected ignore option to error message.
SI5 navigator opened without requesting me to login.
I closed SI5 navigator.
Opened SI5 again with no error and logged in as per usual.
