Default Error Message - System.EventArgs

I get a similar error to others posted on the forum:

The following error ocurred while trying to validate your license. Please contact D-Tools Customer Support. System.EventArgs

I have loaded this over an expired SI4.5 install that I have not used for a while. There may be some configuration information useful to keep from the earlier version.

I have been dealing with Jason in Sales.

Nigel, could you post the entire error message, or attach a screen shot of the error message window? Thanks.

Thanks Jose. I just fired up and got a different message from before (now 'LanSync'). I sent the D-Tools error report also referencing this post.

During the original install the '.net /services' upgrades did not run from the D-Tools prompt and I tracked them down and did them manually.

Do you have WSE 3.0 installed? It is one of the pre-req's.

Please Ignore my previous post...

The problem is that the machine you are installing the trial on does not have a valid internet time stamp. Checkout the article in this link from the August Newsletter for instuctions on how to fix the problem.

Default Not Time Synch

Without going into the details of the XP Knowledge base doc I have adjusted my clock to match the D-Tools time server within the odd second. I have tried with various time zones also (UCT,GMT,BST) but no change. I did a complete new registration and install but still no change. I sent one of the automated support messages with supporting text.

Not too sure if this time solution was for the System.Event args problem but my problem is now the LanSync Server error, as mentioned previously.

I'm having the exact same problem too - I emailed support last night... but here's what the error message sends:

Now - in this error it would appear that 'Microsoft.Web.Services3' is not around... but in the past - I've never "manually" installed this. Where do I get it? I checked all the updates at Microsoft's web site - I'm 100% up to date (running Vista Ultimate) - and I didn't have to manually install this on the two other workstations (also running Vista) here... ???

All our machines have been down since Thursday of last week due to this.

It is still unresolved today.

We and D-Tools support believe it is a firewall issue, an ours are managed by our server.

Now that we have the firewalls off so we can attempt reinstallation and registration, we still need to await D-Tools to release the licenses.

This is the specific point of aggrivation, that even once you learn your way around the issues of your specific configuration you are still heavily dependant on D-Tools to release licenses, TOO MUCH CONTROL - lighten up.

We cannot uninstall and reinstall SI5 without having an error about the licenses already being installed, then we have to send the message and the release request and wait...
