Background mask for schematic wire labels
This doc explains how to turn off the background mask of the schematics wire's labels.

I haven't worked with AutoCAD schematics much yet.
Can someone explain why the background mask is necessary at all?
Is there actually a benefit?

The benefit of the mask is to avoid the overlapping the Wire (line) on the ComponentID (text).
