Default Sales tax

When I am generating an "Installed Price" report, each line item totals the Unit Price + Misc Parts + Sales Tax + all labor. This is great, I am just wondering why it still breaks down the labor and sales tax fields at the end of the report. Is there a way I can have these removed, much as they were in SI4.0 & earlier?

Thanks.

you will likely need to create a custom report and modify or hide (set Visible=false) the sub reports that generate this information at the end of the proposal.

That is how I do it. I took a Line Item Detail report that normally shows summary info at the end and just removed the subreports for that. Then added a subreport to the beginning which is a Zone Summary. That way, first page shows subtotals for each Zone plus sales tax and a grand total. The rest of the report is Line Item Detail, By Zone By Location.

Frye - I will work on that report. Sounds like the best option.

Thanks.

I can share an older (less well formatted version of mine) just keep in mind I do not use labor factors for design, management, etc. Those items show up as independent Phases. My current report looks like the attached PDF. The attached report is formatted differently but is the same base report.

Thanks for the feedback. I am trying to modify the report to hide the sales tax, but I cannot see the field in report designer to make the sales tax field "hidden".

Also, when I remove the <Run Date> field in the footer, I get an error when publishing or previewing "Exception has been thrown by the target of an invocation." Anyone?

The Sales Tax field exists on a subreport of a subreport. What you would need to do is:
1. Create a report based off of the "ProjectTaxDetail" report and choose to make the tax field not visible.
2. Create a report based off of the "Project Summary Detail" report and bind the report you created in step 1 to this report (see screen shot)
3. On the Proposal report that you've modified, you will bind the report from step 2.

I was able to duplicate the error received when removing the <Run Date> tag from our reports and have submitted this as a bug. Perhaps as a workaround you can set the "Visible" property to False for this tag just as you are doing for the tax field.

Okay. The final part at the end of the report is a SubReport. Where do I modify this SubReport?

The "ProjectTaxDetail" is a subreport that is bound to the "Project Summary Detail" subreport that is then bound to the main Proposal report in the grpSummaryDetail section (see screen shot).

Here is what I did;

New report based on ProjectTaxDetail, modified and set tax line visibility=false.
New report based on ProjectSummaryDetail, modifed and set tax line visibility=false
In my custom Proposal report, I changed to target of bound customized "projectSummaryDetail".

Tax Line is still there... am i missing something?
