Default Proposal not separating package by location

I've got a small problem that I'm hoping someone can shed some light on.

I added a package to a materials list using the PDM. Parts of the package were assigned different locations and zones.

In the Proposal report, the package is grouped as one item under the default location/zone that was assigned when the package was created. Ideally I'd like to have the items in the package listed in the location/zone they were assigned to.

Is this a bug or by design? Any idea how I could change this?

This is by design based on the way our Packages data breaks on the reports. The default in SI5.5 is to show Packages in the Client reports. If you have product assigned to different Location/Zones in a Package and want those products to display in their respective Locations/Zones on the reports, you must choose not to show Packages on the report. This can be done on the Report tab->[View/Change Global Settings] button and change the "Show Packages in Proposals" option to False.

Excellent!!! That was what I needed. I'm really only using packages to make it easier to create the bill of materials. It helps me ensure I've got everything. It is meaningless to the customer.

Thanks for your help.

Seth,

At first glance this seemed like a perfect solution. However there is a problem with this. It might be a bug.

After I disabled "Show Packages in Proposals" the prices for accessories was not being factored into the main product price.

For example, if I had a product "Stair Lights" for $100 and an accessory of "bulb" for $2, then previously the "Stair Lights" line item would show $102. But now it's only showing $100.

I tried re-enabling that feature and sure enough the prices for the accessories was now included.

Is this a bug or how the feature works?
