Default Labor Items Show $0.00 on ALL Client Reports

I import an SI4 Project and run a Line Item Detail report with the "Show Labor Items in Report" checked, but all the individual Labor Items show up as $0.00.

However, the Project Summary is correct.

There have been so many ways to identify Labor going back to 3.5 that something must be confused.

What's going on?

I looks like when you are using Phased Based Labor pricing, the Line Item Price must be the Installed Price, not the Item Price.

So I need to print the "Installed Price" for Labor items only. BTW: We do not include Labor with the Equipment Items. Labor is priced separately and uses the Phase based labor calculations. I can't use an Installed Price report, because I do not want tax and all the other factors to adjust the Equipment Item prices.

Could I use the ReportUtilities.TotalItemLabor method to get the total labor selling price for each Labor Item?

This is starting to look complicated. The Line Item report that I am using aggregates like items. This means that I need to sum TotalItemLabor for all like Items where Category="Labor". I'm not sure how to approach this.

Any thoughts would be helpful.

Default Installed Price Reports

Hey Reed,

I think you can use the Installed price report since you are not using equipment labor specification. The Installed Price does not include tax and since you'/re not using the labor attached to the items the only price you would get would be the equipment price (as long as you aren't using equip adjustment or misc parts)

Installed Price = Price + EquipmentAdjustment + MiscPartsAdjustment + TotalLaborPrice

You might also look into setting a filter on the main report (required filter thru the designer) for category type <> Labor. Create a subreport to represent the labor items - then set the filter on that subreport using script (there's a sample around here from Rick C somewhere) so that only labor shows up.

Make sense? Might take a little finagling to get it to work, but it should do the trick if the installed price version wont work.

Ryan,

Yep I thought about the Installed report, but we do use EquipmentAdjustment and MiscPartsAdjustment, so I would have the same problem, only more items to adjust.

We rarely show Labor Items, so it is not an operational issues, yet. I'm sure it will eventually show up.

I owe you a call! I'm trying to knock out this report stuff, but it is taking longer than expected.

Thanks for the ideas.

I wrote this report (with some help) that shows the actual value of labor line items by location and then subtotals labor by location. we typically run this by zone by location. maybe it will help you get what you want...
