Default submisccosts Extra line item on Summary page

I am trying to add two options for extended warranty in the submisccosts section of the summary report.

Would you please advise on the data entry element process to take advantage of this field (not to be included in the installed project cost)

Thanks

I'm not quite sure what you are requesting, but if you are looking for something like

Extended Warranty Option 1: xxxx.xx
Extended Warranty Option 2: xxxx.xx

You can add these as Misc Costs within the project, but they will be added to the Project Total, which may not be desired.

In the D-tools reports if you check the preview of the client_summary report then under the summary is a dynamic data item with the ID: submisccosts

Then this report is previewed example line items outside of project totals can be seen that I want to take advantage of.

Any ideas?

RJBM,

When you say "take advantage of" I am not clear what you mean.

The Project Summary at the end of report has a line for Misc Costs with a total of the Misc Costs. It looks like this --

-----------------------
Proposal Summary
Total Installation Price: $186,782.02
Project Summary
Sales Tax: $9,150.83
Misc. Costs: $500.00
Grand Total: $196,432.85
---------------------------------------------

Do you want this line to not appear in the Project Summary?
So it would be something like this --

-----------------------
Proposal Summary
Total Installation Price: $186,782.02
Project Summary
Sales Tax: $9,150.83
Grand Total: $195,932.85
---------------------------------------------

I hope the following clarifies my problem:

I am looking adjust a variable to create an optional extra outside of the standard scope.

Something such as:

Room 1 = $2550.00
Room 2 = $1450.00
Total = $4000.00

Optional 3yr Warranty: 10% = $400.00

I can see the variable with the ID: submisccosts is present in the project summary report, as shown in my previous post.

I need to know if this variable can be edited to reflect an item outside of the system total, and if so how can I adjust this variable?

This is above and beyond the misc. cost %age calculator within the project options.

Default Custom Summary Report

Attached is a Custom Summary Report designed hopefully close to what you need. You can include this custom report by importing it.

Custom Summary Report Information -

Customized summary report is created based on existing client (Proposal) summary report.

We cannot touch the existing submisccost report as this report uses a different schema based on misc costs and cannot access project totals.

In this report included a new textbox field for optional warranty under submisccost subreport in grpSubTotal section.

Optional warranty value will be assigned in the script. This value is 10 % of project installation cost. You can change the percentage value by updating the below line in the script
Private percentage As Double = 10

Hope this helps.

Please download the custom report from the following link

After importing the attached custom report, now you can edit the script of the custom report, by clicking the Tools --> Report designer --> Standard Reports.
Report designer Tool.JPG

Open the Existing Reports in Report Designer

open existing reports.JPG

, it will display the “Open Published Report dialog” select the Customized Summary report in the report list and then click ok.

openreportdialog.JPG

After selecting that report you can see the two tabs (Designer and Script) at the bottom.

script.JPG

Click the Script tab there you can edit the report Script, after editing the Script, publish the Report (File --> Publish Report).
