Default Adding Data Field within paragraph

I have searched a lot of the forum and can't seem to find an answer.

Is there a way to enter a data field into a text area. I am trying to edit my contract and have a paragraph loaded from an .RTF and within that paragraph I would like to add the Client's Name. Is there a way to do this by adding {}s around the item like you would merging items into a Word document. Hopefully this makes sense as opposed to expanding the entire paragraph and then trying to place a text box in the exact location.

That would be awesome... We just finsihed our contracts and had planned to use word & excel / mail merge feature or something. I haven't looked into this myself yet.

Here is a quick demo that was put together that demonstrates one way to do this.

Effectively, you create tokens in the Richtext of the section (or you could do the same for a straight textbox control I suppose) and do a replace on it.

Demo to replace string tokens in a Rich Text Control

Just save the zip file to you computer, and import the report. It will most likely show up in the "Uncategorized Reports" section. It's called "Rich Text Replace"

Thank you for your help. I got your example report to work and was able to add the field I desired to the Text. But when I try the same thing in my existing report I get "ReportUtilites not declared". What did I miss

Make sure you spell it correctly. Looks like you dropped an "i" in "ReportUtilities".
