This is unfortunately an ongoing issue with IE and VBulletin with no fix. From what we were told, if you use Firefox it works fine for both upload and download. It is only with IE. But I’m not sure if you used IE or not.

For anyone followign this post who is interested and has not already viewed my other post: http://d-tools.us/showthread.php?t=2213&page=2

I have successfully created a Line Item Detail report grouped by Zone by Location with Labor by Location and it shows the value of labor line items like programming.
It is a huge advancement in reporting transparency for our company.

I have this problem as well. I'm looking at your report, frye, to see if it will work for me, but here is an example of what I have had in a custom report in SI4.5 that I'm trying to duplicate in SI5.5:

Frye, your report I downloaded Labor Not Showing in Line Item Detail looks great, but I have problems with it. For example, I have a location with equipment at $20, and the Equipment total is $20.80. This is the 4% I have as misc parts. This means the totals aren't adding up.

What I need is for the labor and equipment to sum separately with a subtotal combining them.

So far I have: Equipment total, Installation labor total, and a location Subtotal. Unfortunately they do not add up.

Why? The Misc labor doesn't get added with dtr:LaborPrice and everything gets added (misc, EQ+/-, PM, Design) with dtr:InstallationPrice

I need to find the elusive DataField that included all labor and equipment, minus misc parts. We're OK with Misc parts being totaled at the bottom.

In fact our old reports would have a final system summary on the last page, like the Proposal Summary report, and it would total up completely so you could take all of the numbers and add them up for the grand total.

We don't use misc. parts or any of the other labor rate modifiers (design, management, etc.). It works perfectly for me and we basically always considered miscelaneous parts as part of the labor rate. We call it "consumables".

What are miscellaneous parts for you?

We use misc parts to cover drill bits, patch cables, screws, bolts, ties, or other things we didn't account for as a result of not knowing the full details of what you will run into on the job. Inevitably the builder will want us to change something without paying for it as well (like providing screw less plates, or what-have-you).

This is a huge issue for me. I can't get a report to do this correctly. See this post for the example.

In 4.5 we had a custom report that used all phase labor on one line, programming labor on a second line, and the design and management labor, and misc. parts were still on the summary page. I need this done, and I don't know how to do it.

Default Hacking Misc Equip etc.

It's been a while since I goofed with this, but AVCON uses all of these data elements for things not typically supported by the standard reports. You may get some ideas from the attached reports. Pay particular attention to the AVC_Line Item report. I think it breaks out all of the components that makes up the total project price. It may be scattered across some sub reports. There is a bunch of other stuff in there as well, such as integrating cover letters and signatures. I don't have time to explain, but it should be interesting. It's a real hack, but they like it.

I am pretty close to the proposal solution thanks to you guys. I have labor on a per-zone/location basis. I need to be able to list labor in a more detailed manner. Am I missing something?

This project has labor attached to each item, and then 1 additional labor item for project management.

1). The first report is a custom report thanks to fryeguy. It shows labor and labor rate calculated.

2). The second report has the "show labor items checked." This strangely leaves a blank rate for the line item, and throws off the labor calculation.

3.) This is a report just made in microsoft word. It is how I would like to show labor. In all honesty, I would be even more happy if I could show labor attached to each item...like a detailed Install price. However, I at least need to be able to run a proposal like this.

Does anyone else require functionality like this?

Could you please look this custom report

This proposl report shows equipment and labor price for each item seperately. It may not be your exact need, but anyway check it.
