Default Change Order report

Well I have followed the instructions in the user manual about creating a new revision and then making my changes, however i can find no way to actually print out a change order in the reporting module. Unfortunately the user manual doesn't give any more specific guidance.

Thanks,

Try this:

1. Create a project delta by selecting two revisions and right-clicking to get "Create Project Delta"

2. In the Project Deltas section that appears, select the project delta you just created (see attachment)

3. Select the report you want to run

Note: Occasionally in step 2, the project delta section does not appear. We are looking into why this occurs.

That worked great thanks. But is there a way to only show the changes rather than the entire proposal?

Default this is a bug that will be fixed

It should only show the things which are different between the two revisions. However, there is currently a bug in the delta engine that is causing all products to display. We will fix this in our next service pack release.

[Note: This bug was fixed in Service Pack 3]

If the project name has changed it no longer lets me do a delta. Is that a known issue?

Can you elaborate on this i little bit? I don't believe the name of the project should impact this.

Did you simply change the name of the project or did you make a copy of it?

Any detail you have is appreciated and will help us to more easily determine if if and where the issue exists and if it is a bug, how we can track it down, reproduce it internally and fix it.

Thanks.

I am having this problem. Is there a work around or a fix for this yet?

Each project is supposed to have a unique identifier associated with it (a GUID. It is foprmatted like 1C1111C1-C111-111c-CC1C-CCC1CCC111C, but the letters and numbers are different and no two generated are the same).

It may be a case where two projects have the same GUID. It may be that one was copied from the other (manually or otherwise) or that they were SI4 projects that were upgraded and one was based off the other so the GUID is the same.

I mention this as that is the mechanism by which the Delta projects are attached to the projects listed in the reporting center. I would make sure that the Delta is not being mistakenly attached to a different project.

If it is not, the reporting center generates a log file located:

C:\Documents and Settings\{user name}\Application Data\D-Tools\SI5\Reports\Log

where {user name} is the user currently logged into the PC.

Look for the newest log file, open it, scroll to the bottom and see if there is anything regarding exceptions while generating the Delta. If so, let us know and we can take a look from there.
