Question Owner and Assigned To fields

Does anyone use the Owner and/or Assigned To: fields? If so, what do you use them for? Are they important for your work process?

I just realized we have been using the Owner field incorrectly. On most of our projects it is exactly the same as the Client field.

So I guess Owner & Assigned To are basically the same thing.
I noticed I no longer can locate an Assigned To field...
