I would like to include freight charges in my proposals, and I've been experimenting with using the equipment adjust as a flat freight charge. However, the equipment adjust gets taxed, while freight is a non-taxable item. Is there any way to disable taxation of the equipment adjust, or is there a better way to do this?
One way to do this is to create a product called Freight which is not taxable. Maybe create a category called "Misc" and a Manufacturer called "Misc" as well and the Model is Freight.
Add this Freight product as an Accessory and set the labor hrs to 0 and unit price to the actual freight. Since it is not taxable no tax will be added. If you do not want this product to appear in proposal reports set the parent product to "Hide accessory detail in client reports" (this is an option on the Accessory tab when you edit the product).
