Default System settings across multiple seats?

When you have multiple seats and lansync, is there a way to ensure that all the settings are the same other than doing it manually?

If there's not, this would be something nice to add to lansync.

OK, its seems some of this stuff propagates through lansync and some doesn't, why is this?

I too am interested in this as we are installing D-Tools on many systems and I really do not want to have to set this up manually on everyone's system.

Hi,

The way to Copy Settings is to

1. Login as a user with the LANSync Administrator permission.
2. Start MMPD and go to Administration | LANSync and click "Copy Project Defaults".
3. "Copy Project Defaults" copies this data to the server (this is not part of normal sync and only part of Copy Project Defaults) -
a. Master list of Location Types, Locations and Zones
b. Default Tax Rates
c. International Settings
d. Phase names and pricing
e. Headend list
f. IO Lists and saved IO Configurations
g. Project Number format
h. ComponentID format
i. Project Contract Percentages
j. Case Settings
k. Default Wire Length
h. Price Type Names
i. Scope of Work List
j. Project Staff Lists
j. Company Logo and Address

4. Once Project defaults are uploaded if any other user does a "Synchronize Now" the project defaults data will copied to their local database from server.

For example -
1. You login as LANSync Administrator
2. Change Price Type A to say "Manufacturer" and Price Type B to say "Dealer"
3. In MMPD click "Copy Project Defaults" - this data will upload to server
4. Any other user does a "Synchronzie Now" - they will get the Price Type A as Manufacturer and Price Type B as Dealer. Basically a "Synchronize Now" will copy down the project defaults if is has been uploaded by an admin since last sync.

NOTE: When project defaults are copied from server to local database they overwrite all existing project defaults with server defaults.

Also note this doesn't affect existing projects.
