Default Lost DToolsV5ProductsShare

Hi everybody!
My installation: Lansync server installed in a different pc than mine.
Yesterday I had to "hardware restart" (switch off/on) my pc with SI5 open.
I opened SI5 and everything was ok (the licence was on my pc and it was not necessary to login to lansync server). I opened Manage My Product Data to add some items. When I closed and automatically MMPD tried to sync database with the server, an error occoured (invalid lansync shared folder).
I tried the standard ways to solve the problem (look for the shared options and users) and looking in e:\dtools\SI5\server\ I found the "Projects" folder, but not the "Products" one. Let me say that, before the "hardware reset", MMPD sync was ok.
I created manually the folder (automatically Windows XP applyed the same sharing rights like before), and the MMPD started working. I decided to "upload" the entire database, just in case.

Do you think the solution I applied is correct?

Very strange - that is a question for the tech support guys. They check the forum but I would submit an issue to support - http://www.d-tools.com/support/submit-an-issue.html

Check a few things.

1. Are you connected to LANSync? (Inside the Navigator click on File > Connect to SI5.5 Server
2. On the actual server, do you see the Products folder? The default location is usually C:\DToolsData\ or prior to SI5.5 it was C:\DTools
3. Can you access the shared path directly through windows?

Start > Run > \\YourServerName\DToolsV5ProductShare from the client?

Dear Jose,
The problem was that the folder "products" in e:\dtools\SI5\server\ disappeared, maybe erased and I don't know from who, since that folder is not in a place where colleagues usually work. It is very strange. I think the problem is due to the "hardware reset" I had to do when Win XP crashed last day with SI5 and MMPD open.

Gabriele,

That is very strange indeed. I would check the trashbin on the server to make sure it was not deleted by accident. Thank you!

Jose, the trashbin is empty, but I was sure for this. Nobody usually access the server directly, and the only folders that every user can see directly on their own pcs are the ones with the jobs. The two folders for DTools (products and pjects share) are available only if you scan the network, which is a task usually not performed by my colleagues.

I think it is not a "human" problem... (could it be lemmings??? :-) ).
