Default Migrating Data from one server to another

Hi all,

Just wondering if there is a simple way to migrate the product data from one server to another, as I have found one of the laptops that has the most up to date product has SI Server install locally where as my pc is connecting to a different SI Server over the intranet.

Is it as simple as copying the Product Data folder from one SI Server and pasting it to the other ?

thanks
Simon

Simon,

Your server not only contains products - it also has your projects (drawing files), users, permissions etc. So you need to see which is more current as far as all these settings go.

From my understanding one of your servers is more current as far as products goes.

What you can do -
1. Connect to the server which is most current (in Navigator) for products (laptop server). Start MMPD do a "Copy Down to Local". This will copy latest product data to your local database.

2. Close MMPD and Navigator

3. Restart Navigator and connect to your current server (intranet server - one with not upto date product data). Start MMPD and do a "Copy Up To Server" - this will copy the latest product data from local to intranet server. In other machines now do a "Copy Down to Local" after connecting to the intranet server.
