Default CA Recycling Fee

Anyone have any advise about adding the CA E-Waste recycling fee? It's my understanding that this is a tax only item that needs to be applied when we sell TV's. Any thoughts?

If it is a flat rate per unit, try going to the price tab in your data matrix and adding a second "price type". Maybe this will add to the installed price and you may be able to run a report. I'm not certian, just a thought.

I have a recycling fee in my database. I have a manufacturer named the name of my company. Under that Manufacturer I added the Recycling fee with a fixed cost and no extra tax or labor attached to it. Next I went to my TV's and I added this product as an accessory. Currently, there is no way to add a second tax item into D-Tools. I have begged for this many times. So this is how I accomplish it. If the tax rate changes, you just have to alter the price of the accessory once you have it in your proposal.

When I read the forms about this recycling tax or "fee" or whatever they call it, it makes it sound as though the responsibility is on the end user and not the retailer.
I think we have been deferring to the end user and not collecting this money.

We have been building the tax into our projects to collect the money so we can pay the tax.

I just started adding this as an accessory to every TV. This is a bit annoying. And along the way I have found a bunch of inconsistent TV accessories throughout my database. This is what happens when more than one person can sync data back to the server. My advice, always click NO when you update an item in a proposal. Otherwise you end up with a mess like me.

So with that said, I am looking for feedback related to updating large numbers of items that all need a common accessory. How can this be performed quickly? Specifically I am talking about TVs and adding this ridiculous California eWaste fee. But since I found all kinds of inconsistent data I'm thinking of a way to go through many items and update accessories at the same time.

Any thoughts?
