At this time, there are no reports that run directly on the product database. However this is an excellent idea and something we will look at for a future release.
The way to do this at present would be to create a dummy project, add all of the items in your catalog to it, and run reports off of that. Pick lists and line item reports would be the natural ones to start with.
Another way to do this is to use the export to CSV feature of the Product Grid in MMPD, then open the csv file and run reports in Excel.
