Default Syncing Master Table

Hello All!
New user - still.
Pertaining to MMPD, I have an issue syncing to my DB to LanSync Server.

Background:
-- I have installed and uninstalled the SI5 Client (Navigator) a number of times now, and thus had (I guess) an existing Master Table on my workstation.
-- I did - prior to doing application setup, etc. - download some product info BEFORE I copied down a master table from my LanSync server. Oops!

Issue:
When I attempt to sync(upload) my database, system displays the error: "You have not downloaded the Master Table from the LAN. Please do so first. In MMPD click 'Administration', 'LANSync' and then click 'Copy Down to Local...". So I attempts to do that....

The 'Copy Down...' procedure generates the error: " Master Table not uploaded to LANSync Server by LANSync Administrator."

I'm sure I've either corrupted something (deadly embrace?), or I've left out (glaringly) some crucial step.

I've attached screenshots of the messages I mentioned above.
Thanks in advance for any help y'all can offer.

cheers!

Hmmmm. If I understand, your local database is the most current database. If so, try using the [Copy Up To Server] button on the LANSync tab in the MMPD interface. This will replace the data on the server with your local data and then you should be able to sync. My guess is that at some point you copied up your database to the server, then uninstalled/reinstalled the Desktop Components on your machine so there is a mismatch in the database GUIDS. Also, have you added the permission "LANSync Administrator" to the Group that you assigned your User in the LANSync Administratin Console? To do this, open the LANSync Administration Console. Check what Group you have assigned to your User (see screenshot). Then select Group->Manage Groups. Select "Permissions" from the Edit dropdown. Verify that the "LANSync Administrator" permission has been added to the Group Permissions section(see screenshot). Any time you make any changes to User permissions in the LANSync Administration Console you must close SI 5 and the re-login for the changes to take effect. Hope this helps!

SEnoS -
Thanks for the suggestions.
The issue was, in fact, related to permissions.

The solution required a couple different actions:
1) temporarily add LANSync Administrator to my UID's group, to enable the 'Copy Up to Server' action.
2) add LANSync Data Sync to my UID's group to allow the 'Synchronize' action.

I'm building a 'Permissions Map' based on current settings for the groups I've created; should help me sort out exactly the permissions I need to set for the privileges I'd like for each group. For now, I've just created screen shots of group permissions for reference (see attached).

I'd be happy to hear anyone else's evaluation of the privileges illustrated in the attached screen shots. Perhaps - if it doesn't exist already - this could evolve into example/suggested permissions settings.

One question I do have is, "Can a user be a member of more than one group?". I believe the answer is yet, however I find no single screen which identifies all the groups to which any given user belongs.

Thanks again!

Dave
