Using SI-5, SP2...

When I'm adding a product in MMPD, I'm not getting the initial window asking me to indicate whether I'm adding a Wire, Labor, Equipment, or item.. Has this gone away in SI-5, or am I hallucinating? I thought I recently saw that prompt...

I'm confused...

(what surred me to ask about this is that I'm trying to add some wire and it's not working propoerly...)

Any ideas?

In SI5 if you change the Category the UI will update appropriately depending on the Category Type defined in MMPD.

For example assume you have Wire and Cable defined as a Wire type category. Now add a product and choose Wire and Cable in the Category dropdown. you will see that in Specfications tab the Width and Depth are disabled. Height is now called Diameter. Other changes appropriate to wire are also made.

Now change the Category to Labor (I am assuming you have defined Labor as a Labor Type Category) then you will get the Labor Price tab with options for Fixed Cost, Fixed Price and other labor relevant options.

To check the Category type assigned to a Category click the Administration Tab and see the Categories sub tab. The third column here is Type and you can change the type of any Category here.
