Default Difference in cost and price

Just used QuickLinks to transfer my entire SI5.5 DB to Quickbooks (UK Edition)

All seems OK EXCEPT the every wire/Cable entry which is about a third of the cost/price in Quickbooks than the actual cost in SI5.

I thought it might be something to do with default wire length as that is set to 30m or maybe its an imperial/metric quark

HELP!

J

I think this is probably an imperial/ metric situation - from what I understand the D-Tools database itself actually stores the data in imperial units, and converts/ calculates to metric when the metric option is chosen in the setup.

One thing you may want to check inside QuickLinks is the Sync feature - this allows you to scan your data for differences and then push a change from QB-->DT or from DT -->QB

Hickmott,

This is a confirmed bug.

The D-Tools database always stores data for bulk wire per foot. If you set the measurement unit to metric then the data is displayed per meter but always stored per foot internally in the database. The code to transfer items to QB is looking at the database stored values - it should convert based on the measurement setting.

There is no easy workaround for this unforunately.

Default Off the hook

How are non-"US" users using Quicklinks, then?

There may be a saving grace in the new version of QuickBooks. They have introduced unit or measure tables. Which allows a product to be bought in one unit and sold in another. Seems to work for this issue. You're off the hook D-Tools
