Default QB Item List Linking

I have a project with a DALITE screen in it. As with most DALITE screens you can append a L,S,etc. to the end of the part number for different options. I recently exported a project to QB with a D-Tools Part# 76016L and the part showed up in QB as 76016 no "L". I though maybe I mapped the product wrong by accident but found that there was no link at all in the Quicklinks Item list mappings. What is going on here? Is quicklinks searching for like partnumbers and auto mapping? How could this have happened?

Hi,
Is 76016L your model or sku? Could 76016 be your Model? What our code does is look for Manufacturer:Model in QB and if a QB part# exactly matches manufacturer:model it matches automatically.
You can use the "Item List" button in QuickLinks to map to a different part number.

It's the model#. To expand let me know if this seems like what is happening, 76016 is in the D-tools database. If I add it to the project, then add the model# modifier to make the model 76016L w/o updating to the master table then adjust the cost accordingly. When exporting, does quicklinks look at the modified model# in the project of the original model# of the part in the database? If so this would explain what was happening.

Hi,

If you change the Model# in a project it break the link between the item in project and the master. So 76016L would be considered a new item and not 76016.

Basically we match on Category + Manufacturer + Model from project to master.

Hope this helps.
