Default 5.5 SP1 and Purchase Tax Codes

I suspect I already know the answer that's coming but here goes,

All was working fine under 5.5, but with SP1 the Purchase Tax Code is missing in link tools. My understanding is that I can't roll the upgrade back so, is there a fix?

Hi,

Which version of QB Canada are you using? There have been some changes in the QB Canada 2009 version onwards and how it works with the Intuit SDK. Did you upgrade your QB Canada version recently?

Naresh

Hi Naresh;

We've recently upgraded to 2010. My understanding is that this version finally brings us in line with the US versions. At least the APIs are there to support third party applications (which we are finally now using to implement barcodes and inventory control.)

James,

The Qb 2009 and Qb 2010 Canada versions work like the "US" version as far the QuickBooks SDK is concerned. They no longer allow us to transfer the Purchase Tax Code. Basically Intuit has merged the SDK to work in a similar way for the US, Canada and UK versions from the 2009 version.

We have raised a case with Intuit to see if this is possible or any wrokaround - will keep you posted.

This issue does not relate to 5.5 or 5.5 SP1 - it has to do with the QB Canada version. We have not changed any code for the purchase tax codes.

Thanks Naresh, it's not the only issue we've encountered with the latest update from Intuit. Please keep me posted.
