Default Quickbooks 2009...

I can't talk too much details in a public forum, but there are some changes in Quickbooks 2009 (beta) and how it handles data access - these changes should help multi user installs as well as UAC (or so I believe) with Vista.

The problem, minor as it is, comes when you try to push data into Quickbooks using Quicklinks. If Quickbooks is currently open, I'll get an error that Quickbooks is open but with a different company file. If I close Quickbooks - Quicklinks will work correctly.

Just an FYI - not sure if you guys can get a beta copy form Intuit (I'd guess you could???) - but you'll probably want to play with this a little bit and make some minor changes BEFORE this is released in the next month or two.

Jose - update to this...

Last two builds of Quickbooks 2009 (again - still beta) - they changed the database even more. and now - I am no longer able to connect at all.

Now I get the error:

Error In Object: ConnectoQB
Error Description: Could not start Quickbooks
Error Number: -2147220472

Hope you guys have a copy of this beta there in house and are starting to work with it - as it's due to be released in the next 2 weeks - and will surely be mainstream long before 5.5 ships... hopefully you can come out with a hotfix / patch???

Thanks!

Shawn,

Which version of QB 2009 are you on?
Also does D-Tools appear in the list of Integrated Applications at all. Check the Integrated Applications in Edit | Preferences or File | Preferneces and check if D-Tools is there.

QB 2009 Premier Multi User Beta 3 (latest beta).

D-Tools DOES show up in Intergrated Apps - with appropriate checks ("Allow this app to login automatically" etc.).

Shawn,

Are you on Vista? If so can you try with UAC on?

I was in Windows XP (I gave up trying to get Quickbooks to work with D-Tools in Vista... you guys won't work with UAC on - and Quickbooks won't work with UAC off... I "DO" hope you guys fix this in 5.5!!!).

Default Quickbooks 2009 Issues

Is updating to Quickbooks 2009 recommended, or are there still issues with Quicklinks?

We just recently upgraded to QB 09, and I did a quick transfer of a test estimate - looks like everything transferred over just fine. The totals matched and miscellaneous items were accounted for appropriately. I will be doing some other testing to be sure, but so far so good!
