At this time, D-Tools has tested and supports the following versions of QuickBooks:

US – 2005, 2006, 2007
Canada – 2006
UK – 2005

The following versions are currently being tested for compatiblity. More information will be available in late November.

US - 2008
Canada - 2007
UK - 2006

There are several other versions which may work, but which have not been tested and are not supported at this time. These include:

US – 2002-2004

Finally, these versions are NOT compatible at this time but we are investigating what it will take to make them compatible

US – Enterprise versions (2005-2008)

See http://www.d-tools.com/site/products...uickbooks.html for more information.

Default Quick books 2007

What doesn't work with QB 2007 in Canada? I am using QB 2007 and am not sure if it is working correctly. I have just been waiting for SP3 download.

Timeline on compatibility?

I too get QB updates every year for payroll purposes, and was actually going to upgrade in office today until I saw this post.

We already upgraded and I can't get Quicklink to work - so I hope they come out with an update / fix VERY SOON... as there is no "rolling back" in Quickbooks...

Slemay - I assume you just installed QB 2008. What error message if any do you get from Quicklinks?

WOW! I am glad I asked. Is this one of those "we are working on it" issues or is there a projected date??

NareshN - I can't have both Quickbooks and D-Tools open at the same time... when I do (as the instructions note for the first initial install), I get an error that the company file is in use (which I would expect). If I close Quickbooks - the error goes away, but if I try to do anything (like ITEM LIST in QuickLinks) I get an error:

Error in Object: ConnectoQB
Error Description: Could not start QuickBooks.
Error Number: -2147220472

and I'm guessing I get that error because I haven't prompted Quickbooks to "allow" Quicklinks / D-Tools to access it (and I can't "allow" it if I can't see the popup, as I'm not logged into Quickbooks).

Does this all make sense?

First we are working on QB 2008 compatibility and hope to have it done by mid Dec 2007.

Shawn are you on Vista? There are some issues with Vista and the Quickbooks SDK on the Intuit forums that I see. Take a look at http://idnforums.intuit.com/messagev...art+Quickbooks. We need to test these out here once we get QB 2008. However these are Vista specific issues and if you are not on Vista they do not apply at all.

Shawn can you also check out one more thing - in QB 2008 open your company file and click Edit | Preferences. Then click Integegrated Applications on hte left and click the Company Preferences tab. Normally "D-Tools QuickLinks Si5" should list here as one of the Integrated Applications with Allow Access ticked.

Also make sure you are Administrator or have Administrator level permissions on the windows box when first attempting to connect to Quickbooks.

Yes - I'm using Vista.

The UAC option was a problem with Vista and Quickbooks 2007 - but 2008 seems to have fixed it (I actually helped beta test Quickbooks 2008 and it was one of the first things I tested out to make sure it was fixed - though it's still broken in the Quickbooks Customer Manager addon).

As for integrated applications - nothing there, as I would expect, as we haven't gotten that far in the integration for it to even prompt me to add it.

As for admin - I'm the domain admin, so yes, I have the correct security locally here (and on the network). Please feel free to contact me directly if you'd like, and I'd be more than happy to share out my desktop to you to help debug this further if you'd like.
