I moved from using my main workstation as the LanSync server to using my office server by carefully following the "How to move your server" document. The product database seems to be correct, but the project database on the server is not showing up in the client.

I went into the local storage location ("My Documents, etc") and imported projects from there thinking that the server was just waiting to sync any projects until there was something locally (although this doesn't make sense). If I look in the files on the server, there are all my revisions and all project files that don't show up locally even though LanSync connects with no problem.

Could I have missed something in the detaching and attaching databases part of the server switch? Has anyone had a similar problem? I really need to get this sorted out quickly - I have a couple of important projects going on that have several revs, and many project files - I don't want to do a temporary local workaround for fear of tearing up the file structure in SI5.

I made copies of the project files that were on the server, but not showing up in the client, then deleted the server files.

I took the copied project files to the client side (making sure all local files were previously deleted), and imported them. After importing all the files on the client, I checked them all in to the server.

Everything operating normally now - I still don't know what I did wrong in the server switch that threw everything off.
